The completion ceremony for the first Ethiopian teacher training program at China-Africa (Ethiopia) Zhan Tianyou Institute was held online on August 11th. Attendees included Ms. Cissé, Director of the Education and Training Center of Ethiopian Railway Group-Railway Institute, Mr. Xu Haijun, Deputy General Manager of CIIC International Education Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd, Mr. Li Fusheng, Vice President of ZZRVTC, all the trainees and representatives from all participating teams.
Mr. Li Fusheng, on behalf of ZZRVTC, congratulated all trainees for the successful completion of the training and expressed gratitude to the training team. He commended the trainees for maintaining high enthusiasm throughout the two-month program, actively participating in various courses, gaining a profound understanding of cutting-edge professional development trends, and presenting lecture reports and exhibitions that demonstrated good results. Mr. Li Fusheng emphasized that the training has updated the trainees' teaching concepts and elevated their knowledge and skills, laying a solid foundation for the upcoming China-Ethiopia joint teaching efforts.
In her speech, Ms. Cissé highlighted the establishment of the Ethiopian Railway Group-Railway Institute in 2012, dedicated to providing technical skills training for domestic railway and light rail projects in Ethiopia. Ethiopian Railway Group-Railway Institute has trained more than 350 intermediate professionals to date. Currently, the academy is building the largest modern railway training center in East Africa in Bishoftu City, Oromiyaa, and trainees participating in the training will play a significant role in the center in the future. On behalf of the Railway Institute, she highly praised the effectiveness of the training and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese instructors and work team for their contribution to the training.
Li Changliu, the teacher representative, and Hewan Getachew and Akililu Hibiso, trainee representatives, delivered speeches, respectively, during the summary session of the training. They expressed their gratitude for the efforts and dedication of all parties and expressed their high expectations for the trainees’ future roles. Subsequently, Ms. Cissé and the representative of CIIC International Education Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. in Egypt presented completion certificates and excellent trainee certificates to the trainees.
The two-month teacher training program involved 25 trainees from the Ethiopian National Railway Group and the Addis Ababa Light Rail Company. They engaged in systematic studies covering railway locomotive operation and maintenance, railway comprehensive maintenance technology, and railway traffic operation and management. The program received deep affirmation from all involved parties.
