On November 25th, the college hosted the closing ceremony for the winter camp of students from Tolit Middle School in Mongolia, facilitated by the Chinese Bridge project. The event was attended by Ni Ju, the Vice President of the college, along with representatives from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the Silk Road Academy (International Education College), who were present for the ceremony led by the individual in charge of the Silk Road Academy.
Ni Ju remarked that the students from Tolit Middle School had demonstrated their enthusiasm for learning Chinese and comprehension of Chinese culture through the Chinese Bridge initiative, thanks to the robust support of the Center for Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education. The comprehensive program encompassed visits, practical training, themed lectures, and cultural engagements, each segment reflecting the diligent instruction of the training educators and the notable advancement of the participants. Beyond enhancing their proficiency in Chinese, the activities fostered a more profound appreciation and affection for Chinese culture among the Mongolian students. Serving as a bridge, the Chinese Bridge initiative connects diverse cultures and fosters sincere friendships between educators and students from China and abroad. It is anticipated that the participants will convey their passion for the Chinese language and culture back to their homeland, acting as ambassadors for Sino-Mongolian cultural exchange and encouraging global dialogue among various civilizations. There is also hope for an increased number of students to engage with the Chinese Bridge community in future, contributing to the promotion of the Chinese language and its cultural heritage.
During her speech, Helena, an instructor from Tolit Middle School, expressed that the Chinese Bridge exchange represented a unique experience for all involved from Mongolia. In particular, the introduction to China's Fuxinghao high-speed train offered new insights into the nation's advancements in rail technology. Interactive sessions such as high-speed rail simulation operations, subway practice exercises, and explorations of intangible cultural heritage provided memorable experiences. She conveyed a desire for both institutions to further cooperate in the realms of Chinese-language education and cultural exchange.
The ceremony featured performances by students from the college, including guzheng renditions of Battle of Taiping and erhu interpretations of Horse Racing. Students from Tolit Middle School showcased traditional Mongolian dances and performed the health exercise routine Yangsheng Ba Duan Jin.
